Circa 1623 Chateaux in Bordeaux Area of France / Aquitaine
Mentioned in the land register of the city in 1623, the chateaux belonged to the Lord of Gascq, where its name "The Noble House" comes from. In 1782, a two level stable was added and now houses the breakfast room and library. The original massive, exposed beams are incorporated into the restoration, as well as the typical mangers.
Another unique feature of the house is the monolithic granite bath-tub originally belonging to Admiral de La Crosse who fought side by side with Americans in the war of independence. La Crosse was born and buried here in Meilhan.
The village occupies a high bluff, overlooking the Garonne river and the barge canal, on which you can take mini cruises. From the bluff you get a beautiful panoramic view of the Garonne River and the valley beyond.
Anthony and Frédérique, a Franco-American couple, look forward to making your visit so enjoyable that you will have to return.
The property is handicap-friendly throughout. Pets are welcome.
